Eilon Kirson co-developed tumor treating fields (TTFields) — a novel cancer therapy using low-intensity alternating electric fields delivered via electrode arrays to disrupt mitosis in cancer cells. The EF-14 trial demonstrated improved overall survival with TTFields plus temozolomide vs. temozolomide alone in newly diagnosed GBM, leading to FDA approval. TTFields are now being explored in other cancers including NSCLC and mesothelioma.
