Duojia Pan discovered key components of the Hippo signaling pathway through landmark Drosophila genetic screens. His research established the core Hippo kinase cascade from MST1/2 to LATS1/2 to YAP/TAZ and defined its fundamental role in organ size control. His work in Drosophila provided the conceptual framework for understanding Hippo pathway dysregulation in human cancers. He continues to investigate Hippo pathway mechanisms and their therapeutic relevance across multiple cancer types.
