Roberts Family Professor in Vaccine Research
👥Biography 个人简介
Drew Weissman shared the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Katalin Kariko for the discovery of modified mRNA that enabled modern mRNA vaccines and therapeutics. His laboratory co-invented pseudouridine-modified mRNA and lipid nanoparticle formulations that deliver mRNA effectively to target cells including antigen-presenting cells. His work directly enabled personalized mRNA cancer vaccines by solving the fundamental delivery and innate immune activation challenges. He continues to advance mRNA optimization strategies for cancer vaccine and other therapeutic applications.
