Jennifer Doudna shared the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her co-discovery of CRISPR-Cas9 as a programmable tool for genome editing. Her laboratory at UC Berkeley and the Innovative Genomics Institute develops CRISPR applications for cancer, genetic disease, and agriculture. She has co-founded multiple therapeutic companies translating CRISPR into clinical cancer treatments.
