Luisa Agnese Dossus

Luisa Agnese Dossus has conducted seminal epidemiological investigations within the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition cohort examining the association between circulating sex steroids and cancer risk in non-reproductive tissues, demonstrating that endogenous estrogen and testosterone levels predict risk of colorectal, liver, and kidney cancers independent of obesity. Her research at IARC has provided the most comprehensive prospective evidence linking circulating sex hormone concentrations to cancer development across multiple organ systems. Her work has been instrumental in establishing the scientific basis for hormonal risk stratification in cancer prevention.
