Derek Jonker

Derek Jonker is a gastrointestinal oncologist at the Ottawa Hospital who has contributed to Canadian and international adjuvant CRC trials and has expertise in the risk stratification of stage II colon cancer for adjuvant chemotherapy decisions. He has participated in ASCO guideline development for adjuvant colon cancer therapy and leads educational initiatives for GI oncology in Canada. His clinical research addresses real-world implementation of adjuvant duration decisions informed by IDEA trial data. Jonker advocates for multidisciplinary decision-making frameworks that integrate tumor risk factors with patient preferences for adjuvant CRC.
