Dennis Bhatt

Dennis Bhatt focuses on ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of non-apoptotic cell death driven by lipid peroxidation, as a cancer therapeutic strategy. His research demonstrated that RAS-mutant and therapy-resistant cancers are particularly vulnerable to ferroptosis induction through GPX4 inhibition. He has investigated how the tumor microenvironment modulates ferroptosis sensitivity and how dietary lipids influence cancer cell vulnerability. His work has opened new avenues for treating apoptosis-resistant cancers by exploiting alternative death pathways.
