Denise Aberle served as national principal investigator for the National Lung Screening Trial (NLST) that demonstrated a 20 percent relative reduction in lung cancer mortality with low-dose CT screening. She has led major efforts defining implementation standards for LDCT screening. Her thoracic imaging research focuses on quantitative CT biomarkers. She directs imaging research at UCLA.
