David Hong at MD Anderson has been one of the most prolific early drug development oncologists, contributing to development of numerous targeted agents. His leadership in basket trial design and execution — including the ASCO/NCI Targeted Agent and Profiling Utilization Registry (TAPUR) and NCI-MATCH trial — and his early clinical work on novel agents targeting oncogenic drivers have advanced the field of precision oncology drug development.
