David Gandara at UC Davis is a veteran lung cancer clinical trialist who has made landmark contributions to the field over four decades. He championed blood-based tumor mutational burden (bTMB) as a biomarker for immunotherapy response in NSCLC and has led multiple SWOG cooperative group lung cancer trials. His contributions to lung cancer clinical research infrastructure and biomarker development have been foundational.
