David Cohn

David Cohn is a gynecologic oncologist with expertise in surgical management of fallopian tube and peritoneal carcinomas and has been a proponent of opportunistic salpingectomy — removal of the fallopian tubes during routine gynecologic surgery — as a cancer prevention strategy based on evidence that most high-grade serous ovarian cancers originate in the distal fallopian tube. He has contributed to studies demonstrating the safety of bilateral salpingectomy and its potential to reduce ovarian cancer incidence, and has published surgical outcomes data for radical cytoreductive surgery in primary peritoneal carcinoma.
