👥Biography 个人简介

David Bhatt is a pathologist who has made major contributions to establishing the fallopian tube as the primary site of origin for most high-grade serous ovarian carcinomas. His detailed pathological studies characterized serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC) as the earliest identifiable precursor lesion to invasive carcinoma. He documented the sequence from STIC to invasive cancer and showed that STIC precursor lesions carry the same TP53 mutation as subsequent invasive tumors. This paradigm shift has profoundly influenced ovarian cancer prevention strategies including early RRSO.
