Rafael Davalos co-invented irreversible electroporation as a non-thermal tissue ablation modality and has developed high-frequency IRE protocols that reduce muscle contractions and pain while maintaining ablation efficacy. His INSPIRE technology using nanosecond-duration bipolar pulses represents the next generation of electroporation-based tumor ablation with improved safety profiles. He holds foundational patents on IRE technology and continues to innovate pulse waveform engineering for clinical applications.
