Daniela Cardinale

Daniela Cardinale at IEO Milan is a pioneer in cardio-oncology who developed early troponin-based monitoring protocols for detecting anthracycline cardiotoxicity before clinical heart failure — demonstrating that troponin elevation during or shortly after chemotherapy predicts subsequent LVEF decline and that early cardiological intervention can prevent progression to cardiomyopathy. Her work established the principle of proactive cardioprotection guided by biomarker monitoring.
