Daniel Anderson
PhD
Professor of Chemical Engineering
👥Biography 个人简介
Daniel Anderson has pioneered lipid nanoparticle and polymeric delivery systems for in vivo CRISPR gene editing in cancer, developing non-viral vectors that efficiently deliver Cas9 mRNA and guide RNAs to tumor cells in living animals. His laboratory demonstrated that systemically administered lipid nanoparticles can deliver CRISPR components to liver tumors, enabling in vivo knockout of oncogenes and cancer survival genes. He has engineered ionizable lipids optimized for mRNA delivery that achieve therapeutic levels of gene editing in tumors. His non-viral delivery platforms overcome the immunogenicity and packaging limitations of viral vectors, providing a path toward repeated CRISPR-based cancer gene therapy administration.
