Giulio D'Angio founded the National Wilms Tumor Study and defined modern multimodal treatment of Wilms tumor. He was a leader in pediatric radiation oncology and established the study of late effects in childhood cancer survivors. His work made Wilms tumor one of the major pediatric oncology success stories.
