Dan S. Kaufman

Dan Kaufman is a pioneer in deriving NK cells from human pluripotent stem cells, making major contributions to the scalability of off-the-shelf NK cell therapy manufacturing. His laboratory established protocols for differentiating iPSCs into functional NK cells with tumor-killing activity comparable to blood-derived NK cells. He has advanced GMP manufacturing of iPSC-derived NK cells and contributed to early-phase clinical trials demonstrating their safety and activity. His work is directly enabling the development of universally accessible, off-the-shelf cellular immunotherapy products.
