Blossom Damania leads research on Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV/HHV-8) and its role in Kaposi sarcoma and primary effusion lymphoma. Her UNC laboratory has defined viral mechanisms driving cellular transformation and viral reactivation in KSHV-associated cancers. She serves as vice dean for research at UNC.
