Cigall Kadoch at Dana-Farber is a world authority on the mSWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex family and their roles in cancer. Her landmark work on synovial sarcoma, demonstrating that SS18-SSX fusion proteins incorporate into and subvert mBAF complexes to drive oncogenesis, has transformed understanding of this disease. Her comprehensive characterization of ARID1A, SMARCA4, and other mSWI/SNF subunit mutations across many cancer types has identified epigenetic vulnerabilities being therapeutically targeted.
