👥Biography 个人简介

Kristian Cibulskis is the lead developer of MuTect, the most widely used somatic point mutation calling algorithm in cancer genomics, which introduced Bayesian statistical methods for detecting somatic mutations at very low allele fractions in tumor-normal paired sequencing data while controlling for sequencing artifacts and germline contamination. His work at the Broad Institute has set the gold standard for somatic variant calling accuracy and has been integral to the analysis of all major cancer genome sequencing projects. His continued development of mutation calling methods addresses the evolving challenges of detecting subclonal mutations and variants in liquid biopsy samples.
