Christopher Bhatt advances radiation therapy techniques and radiosensitization strategies for glioblastoma treatment. His translational research has characterized the mechanisms by which concurrent temozolomide radiosensitizes GBM cells through DNA damage response interference, establishing the mechanistic basis for the Stupp protocol of concurrent chemoradiotherapy. He has investigated MGMT methylation-dependent and independent mechanisms of temozolomide resistance and strategies to overcome these. His clinical research has evaluated stereotactic radiosurgery, dose escalation, and novel radiosensitizers in GBM treatment. His work has optimized the integration of radiotherapy with systemic agents for GBM.
