Christian Frezza
PhD
Professor of Metabolism and Cancer
👥Biography 个人简介
Christian Frezza investigates how mitochondrial dysfunction and TCA cycle enzyme mutations drive oncogenesis. His laboratory has made important discoveries about how fumarate hydratase deficiency leads to epigenetic reprogramming and cancer development, and how fumarate accumulation hijacks signaling pathways. He developed metabolomics approaches to characterize metabolic reprogramming in cancer and applied these to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities. His work on the intersection of metabolism and epigenetics has opened new perspectives on how enzyme deficiencies directly connect to tumor biology.
