Aadel Chaudhuri has developed innovative ctDNA profiling technologies including phased variant enrichment methods that achieve ultrasensitive detection of ctDNA during and after radiation therapy, enabling real-time molecular response assessment for treatment adaptation. His research at Washington University has demonstrated that ctDNA clearance kinetics during radiation therapy predict pathological response and long-term outcomes, providing a molecular surrogate for treatment effectiveness. His work is establishing ctDNA as a tool for personalizing radiation therapy intensity and identifying patients who may benefit from treatment escalation or de-escalation.
