Charles Mullighan has transformed the genomic understanding of acute lymphoblastic leukemia through comprehensive sequencing studies. He described the Ph-like (BCR-ABL1-like) ALL subtype, which affects a large proportion of high-risk patients and has actionable kinase alterations. His work on CRLF2 overexpression and IKZF1 deletions has refined risk stratification in pediatric and adult ALL. He leads major genomic classification efforts for ALL worldwide.
