Leaf Huang is a founding figure in liposomal and lipid nanoparticle drug delivery for cancer therapy. His laboratory developed cationic lipid-protamine-DNA (LPD) nanoparticles and contributed to the foundational science underlying modern lipid nanoparticles used for mRNA delivery. His research on tumor-targeted liposomes, lipid-based gene therapy vectors, and immunostimulatory delivery systems has influenced both cancer drug delivery and vaccine technology.
