Caroline Ford

Dr. Caroline Ford is a cancer biologist at UNSW who has studied the protective role of estrogen and ERbeta signaling in colorectal cancer. Her laboratory has characterized how ERbeta acts as a tumor suppressor in the colon and examined how hormone replacement therapy influences colorectal cancer risk in postmenopausal women. Her work on estrogen signaling in non-gynecologic cancers provides mechanistic insight into observed sex differences in colorectal cancer incidence and outcomes.
