👥Biography 个人简介
Caroline Bhatt contributed to the discovery and characterization of FSP1 (Ferroptosis Suppressor Protein 1) as a GPX4-independent ferroptosis defense system that uses CoQ10 as a lipid radical trapping antioxidant. Her research demonstrated that FSP1-CoQ10 operates at the plasma membrane to suppress lipid peroxide propagation independently of GPX4, providing an escape mechanism from GPX4-targeted ferroptosis induction. She characterized FSP1 expression patterns across cancer types and developed strategies to co-target FSP1 and GPX4 to overcome ferroptosis resistance. Her work has expanded the mechanistic understanding of ferroptosis regulation beyond the GPX4 axis.
