Carl June

Carl June at the University of Pennsylvania led the first clinical demonstrations of CD19-targeting CAR-T cell therapy achieving complete remissions in patients with CLL (2011) and then in pediatric ALL. His pivotal role in co-developing tisagenlecleucel (Kymriah) — the first CAR-T therapy approved by the FDA — represents a foundational contribution to cell-based cancer immunotherapy. His ongoing work on solid tumor CAR-T and next-generation CAR-T designs continues to advance the field.
