👥Biography 个人简介

Peter Campbell co-led the Pan-Cancer Analysis of Whole Genomes consortium that reconstructed the evolutionary histories of over 2,600 tumors across 38 cancer types, establishing the timeline of mutational processes and driver events during cancer development. His research at the Wellcome Sanger Institute has revealed that somatic mutations accumulate in normal tissues from early embryogenesis onward, providing the substrate for clonal selection that can eventually lead to cancer. His work has defined the landscape of cancer genome evolution at unprecedented resolution and scale.
