Calaneet Balas

Calaneet Balas leads the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) — the largest ovarian cancer advocacy and research organization in the US. Her organization advocates for increased research funding for a cancer with no approved early detection test and 70-80% late-stage diagnosis rates, and funds research on early detection, treatment, and hereditary ovarian cancer. Her advocacy has raised awareness of BRCA testing and genetic counseling for high-risk women.
