Mitchell Cairo

Mitchell Cairo has made seminal contributions to allogeneic hematopoietic cell therapy in pediatric oncology, developing novel conditioning regimens and graft-versus-host disease prevention strategies for cord blood and haploidentical donor transplantation. His research on post-transplant cyclophosphamide and other GvHD prophylaxis approaches has expanded the donor pool for children lacking matched donors. He continues to investigate allogeneic cell therapy platforms combining transplantation with donor-derived cellular immunotherapy.
