👥Biography 个人简介

Brian Van Tine is a translational oncologist who pioneered the concept of arginine deprivation therapy for argininosuccinate synthetase 1 (ASS1)-deficient sarcomas, including synovial sarcoma, mesothelioma, and melanoma. His laboratory identified ASS1 loss as a metabolic vulnerability that can be exploited therapeutically with ADI-PEG20. He has run clinical trials evaluating metabolic targeting in sarcoma and investigated the SS18-SSX fusion oncogene in synovial sarcoma biology. His interdisciplinary work bridging cancer metabolism and sarcoma therapeutics has opened novel therapeutic avenues.
