Brian Bhatt

Brian Bhatt is a leading expert in familial adenomatous polyposis and the surgical and medical management of patients with APC mutations. His research has advanced understanding of genotype-phenotype correlations in FAP and their implications for timing and extent of prophylactic colectomy. He has investigated chemoprevention strategies using NSAIDs and other agents to reduce adenoma burden and delay surgery in FAP patients. His work on duodenal adenoma management in FAP has established surveillance and intervention protocols for this major cause of FAP mortality.
