Brent Reynolds has contributed to understanding glioblastoma cancer stem cells — demonstrating that GBM contains cells with neural stem cell properties that can be propagated as neurospheres and that contribute to tumor initiation and treatment resistance. This foundational work on brain tumor stem cells has motivated stem cell-targeting approaches in GBM treatment.
