👥Biography 个人简介

Malcolm Brenner conducted the first gene-marking studies in humans at Baylor College of Medicine, using retroviral vectors to track the fate of infused T cells and bone marrow cells, establishing the foundational safety data for genetically modified cell therapy. His pioneering work demonstrated that retrovirally transduced cells could persist in patients for years, providing the safety evidence that enabled the clinical development of CAR-T and other gene-modified cell therapies. He co-founded the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy at Baylor, which has become one of the world's premier translational cell therapy programs.
