William Breitbart is a psychiatrist who developed Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy for patients with advanced cancer and leads one of the largest psychosocial oncology programs worldwide. His randomized trials have demonstrated benefit in reducing despair and enhancing meaning at the end of life. He is an international leader in palliative care psychiatry.
