Bonnie Addario

Bonnie Addario founded the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation after her own lung cancer diagnosis — creating one of the most effective patient advocacy organizations for a cancer historically associated with stigma due to its smoking association. Her work has raised substantial research funding, advocated for biomarker testing in all lung cancer patients, and has been instrumental in establishing that never-smokers and former smokers deserve equal access to advanced lung cancer care and research participation.
