Paul Boffetta is an internationally recognized cancer epidemiologist at Mount Sinai whose multi-center studies of occupational carcinogens have provided definitive evidence for cancer risks associated with asbestos, heavy metals, and industrial chemicals. His leadership of international consortia studying occupational cancer across diverse populations has generated the most comprehensive occupational cancer risk estimates available. His research on interactions between tobacco smoking and occupational carcinogen exposure has revealed synergistic cancer risks in exposed workers.
