Christian Blank is a pioneer of neoadjuvant immunotherapy for melanoma who designed and led the landmark OPACIN and OPACIN-neo trials. His work demonstrated that short-course neoadjuvant ipilimumab plus nivolumab achieves high pathological response rates and may spare many patients from adjuvant therapy. His research has catalyzed a global paradigm shift toward neoadjuvant approaches.
