Smita Bhatia is a pediatric oncologist and a leader in childhood cancer survivorship research with major contributions to understanding secondary malignancies, cardiotoxicity, and pharmacogenomic determinants of late effects. She leads the Institute for Cancer Outcomes and Survivorship at UAB and contributes to the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study. Her research has shaped screening guidelines for survivors of pediatric cancer.
