👥Biography 个人简介

Bert Vogelstein is one of the most cited scientists in the world and a foundational figure in cancer genetics. His discoveries of p53 mutations and the multistep model of colorectal cancer evolution transformed the understanding of carcinogenesis. He and colleagues developed the concept of cancer as a genetic disease driven by sequential accumulation of mutations in oncogenes and tumor suppressors. His laboratory pioneered sensitive liquid biopsy approaches for cancer early detection. He has received virtually every major prize in science and medicine.
