👥Biography 个人简介

Bert Vogelstein is one of the most cited scientists in the world, whose comprehensive genetic analysis of colorectal carcinogenesis established the multi-step Vogelgram model showing that cancer arises from sequential mutations in oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes including APC, KRAS, SMAD4, and TP53. He and his colleagues characterized TP53 as one of the most commonly mutated tumor suppressors in human cancer and developed the concept of cancer as a genetic disease of accumulating mutations. His laboratory pioneered liquid biopsy technologies for cancer early detection using circulating tumor DNA.
