Benjamin O. Anderson

Benjamin O. Anderson at the University of Washington founded and leads the Breast Health Global Initiative (BHGI), which has developed evidence-based, resource-stratified guidelines for breast cancer management in low- and middle-income countries. His research has generated practical frameworks for adapting breast cancer diagnosis and treatment to resource-limited settings, recognizing that LMIC-specific guidelines are necessary when Western standards are not achievable. He has conducted implementation research demonstrating the feasibility of improving breast cancer outcomes in LMICs with limited resources. His work has been foundational for global breast cancer equity.
