Beatriz Carreno pioneered neoantigen-loaded dendritic cell vaccines for personalized cancer immunotherapy, demonstrating in a landmark study that DCs pulsed with patient-specific neoantigens can expand neoantigen-reactive T cells in melanoma patients. Her approach of computationally predicting neoantigens and loading them onto autologous DCs established a template for personalized DC vaccine therapy.
