Bas Raaymakers invented the MR-linac, integrating an MRI scanner with a linear accelerator to enable real-time tumor visualization during radiation delivery. This technology allows daily plan adaptation based on tumor position and anatomy changes, significantly improving treatment precision. His Unity MR-linac system is now deployed clinically worldwide, transforming adaptive radiotherapy for targets affected by organ motion.
