👥Biography 个人简介

Dr. Baruch Blumberg discovered the hepatitis B virus (HBV) surface antigen (Australia antigen) and developed the first hepatitis B vaccine, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1976. His work directly enabled HBV vaccination programs that have dramatically reduced hepatocellular carcinoma incidence globally. The HBV vaccine remains one of the world's first preventive cancer vaccines and a model for infectious-disease-linked cancer prevention.
