James Balter

James Balter has been a pioneer in adaptive radiation therapy, developing systems for daily imaging and automated treatment replanning that enable dose painting prescriptions to be maintained despite day-to-day anatomic changes. His quantification of organ motion and deformation patterns has informed margin strategies and adaptation triggers for dose painting implementations. He leads research on MR-linac applications for real-time functional imaging-guided adaptive dose painting during treatment delivery.
