Daria Babushok

Daria Babushok has applied single-cell genomic approaches to understand clonal evolution in aplastic anemia and other bone marrow failure syndromes, revealing how somatic mutations in immune evasion genes are positively selected in the autoimmune marrow environment. Her research has identified molecular markers that predict which BMF patients are at highest risk for transformation to myelodysplastic syndrome or acute leukemia. She is developing risk-stratification algorithms to guide surveillance and early intervention in BMF patients.
