Benjamin Anderson

Benjamin Anderson founded the Breast Health Global Initiative which created the first resource-stratified guidelines for breast cancer management in low- and middle-income countries, providing a tiered framework of basic, limited, enhanced, and maximal resource-level treatment recommendations that enables evidence-based care across all economic settings. His work at the University of Washington has defined the essential surgical cancer care packages needed in resource-limited settings and has trained surgical oncologists across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. His guidelines have been adopted by the WHO and are used in over 100 countries to improve cancer treatment standards.
