Rifat Atun

Rifat Atun has been a leading voice in global cancer health systems research, demonstrating that integrating cancer care into universal health coverage programs and primary health care systems in LMICs can dramatically improve outcomes while remaining economically feasible through evidence-based resource allocation and diagonal health system strengthening. His research at Harvard has modeled the health system requirements for expanding cancer care in resource-limited settings and has identified critical bottlenecks in workforce, infrastructure, and supply chains that must be addressed. His work provides the health systems blueprint for closing the global cancer care gap.
